Use

You use this procedure to make Web server settings.

Web server settings depend on the type of Web server you are using to install the Internet Transaction Server (ITS).

Procedure

Here are some recommended Web server settings for:

Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS)

If you are using the IIS, you can configure the Information Server API (ISAPI) extension of WGate by making the following settings in the Microsoft Management Console:

  1. Define WGate as an ISAPI filter.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying textThis provides the mapping to the Web server extension file wgate.dll .

The location of the Web server extension file wgate.dll has changed:

  1. In Web Site Properties, make sure that Run in separate memory space (isolated process) is unchecked.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

From Release 4.6D, Web server instances no longer have to run in their own memory space:

This is because each Web server instance had to run in its own memory space to enable WGate to communicate with the correct AGate.

In the new WGate configuration, WGate knows which AGate it should talk to in multiple instance configurations, so there is no need to run each Web server instance in its own memory space. This improves performance considerably.

  1. In the SCRIPTS folder, make sure that Run in separate memory space (isolated process) is unchecked.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

Note

For further information about the new WGate configuration, see the SAP@Web Installation Guide or the ITS Administration Guide.

Netscape Enterprise Server (NES)

If you are using the NES, you can configure the Network Server API (NSAPI) extension of WGate by making the following settings in the Netscape administration tool:

Taking any of these steps should help to improve ITS performance.
