Source Information

The Source field is used for documenting the contextual information used in defining the term concept and should contain information on the origin of the term.

When you enter a new term, you must either enter the source or create a link to the source before you can save the term. For more information on creating a link to the source, see Creating Links to Source of Term.

Note

SAPterm source information does not appear in terminology and glossary products for externals. It is intended for internal use only.

Guidelines for Entering Source Information

Leave an empty line between each example.

Translators do not need to translate source information into their respective languages. If you choose not to do so, leave the Source field empty. Do not insert a copy of the untranslated source information, and do not refer back to it (such as "see the German source information").

Enter a sample text from SAP publications or other sources showing how the term is used. Do not enter more than one or two sentences.

Enter the citation information in full after the sample text:

For books, trade journals, and other external publications, use standard bibliographic citation formats.
For SAP documentation and system objects to which you cannot create links, you need to enter the following information:

Type of object	Information to be provided
Help documentation	Component key, component name, and topic name
System documentation	Documentation class, documentation name
SAP System	Type of object (such as domain, message, transaction) and technical name of object
Training material	Course number, course title, and page
Brochures, marketing material, press releases	Title, material number (if available), date, page
