Superannuation (Infotype 0310)

Definition

The Superannuation infotype (0310) contains default settings for the superannuation funds to which the employer and/or employee contribute for the employee's retirement.

Use

For the payroll program to calculate the contribution amounts to any superannuation funds to which an employee subscribes, you must create a record for the Superannuation infotype per fund for the employee.

For new employees, you can create the Superannuation infotype through a hiring action. If your employees’ superannuation details change, you can create new superannuation records in master data by delimiting the old records and entering a new validity period for the new records.

Structure

The settings you make in the Superannuation infotype (0310) include the:

Superannuation fund
Superannuation annual salary (if this is not the same as the employee's actual salary)
Company contribution details (percentage, absolute amount or factor of the employee's contribution)
Employee contribution details (percentage or absolute amount)
Medical classification (if your company or the superannuation fund requires the employee to undergo a medical examination before joining the fund)
Reason for joining the fund (if your company requires the employee to specify a reason)

In Customizing for Payroll New Zealand under Superannuation ® Superannuation Funds ® Define Superannuation Fund Details, you can set up default contribution details which you can override if you change the default in the infotype. You can also set up a default superannuation fund in Customizing.

Integration

If an employee decides to change the contributions he or she makes to a particular fund, you need to create a new record to reflect these changes. Should you receive a request to change contribution amounts after payroll has been run for a particular period, changing the record will trigger retroactive accounting.
