Use

By default data is displayed in the ALV Grid Control view. You can also display data in an Excel view. Your data is transferred to Excel and displayed there in an Excel sheet within the window instead of the grid. The ALV Grid Control toolbar is still visible and you can use its functions in the Excel view.

Prerequisites

To use the Excel view, Excel must be installed on your PC.

Procedure

To display the data in Excel, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text ® Excel inplace.

In full screen view, choose View ® Microsoft Excel.

Result

The data is transferred to Excel and displayed in the Excel view instead of the grid. This view includes the information and settings from the grid view and is displayed in the Format sheet. This includes the:

These sheets are based on the Excel view templates delivered from SAP. You can define your own templates or templates for all customers (such as by adding your company logo to the sheets. See Managing Templates.

Caution

Do not change the data of the displayed sheets. If you want to edit the data, create your own sheet by choosing Add ® Table. Changes you make to the data will not be applied to another view if you change the view.

The ALV Grid Control toolbar functions are also available in the Excel view. Changes you make using the toolbar will be applied to another view if you change views.

Note

The settings you select on the Display tab page will not be applied in Excel, but will be applied when you change to the ALV Grid Control display.

Note

In the Excel view, you cannot sort and set filters using the ALV Grid Control toolbar. Use the Excel filter and sort functions instead. These settings will not be applied to another view.

Procedure

To return to the grid view, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text ® Grid.

In full screen mode, choose View ® SAP List Viewer.
