You use the Dangerous Goods Management component to:

• Edit dangerous goods-relevant material data
• Edit dangerous goods master records
• Define dangerous goods checks and run them in sales and distribution processing
• Define dangerous goods documents and output them automatically or manually
• Send dangerous goods data in electronic form for a delivery or a shipment.

To use the Dangerous Goods Management component, you must install the following SAP System components:

• Materials Management (MM)
• Sales and Distribution (SD)
• Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S)

The Dangerous Goods Management component consists of the following components:

• Dangerous goods basic data
• Dangerous goods master
• Dangerous goods checks
• Dangerous goods documents/EDI
• Dangerous goods interfaces

The Dangerous Goods Management component maps the legal regulations for packaged goods only in the system, and not those for bulk goods (bulk/tank).

This document describes the status of the SAP EH&S Dangerous Goods Management component for Release 2.7B without the modifications to adapt the component to the restructured dangerous goods regulations. If you have installed EH&S Support Package 01 and the adaptations for the structure reform, you may encounter some minor inconsistencies between the documentation and a small number of texts on the interface.
