Purpose

This component enables you to enter and assess events, as well as report them to the responsible institutions or authorities if necessary.

In the Federal Republic of Germany, the following laws apply:

According to the Labor Protection Law (ArbSchG), every employer must record any accidents in his company that result in the death of an employee, or render an employee completely or partially incapable of work for a period of more than three days. Furthermore, the Code of Social Law states that employers are also obligated to report accidents that are notifiable according to the criteria given above to the responsible work-related injury insurer, in other words, to the workers‘ compensation associations. A copy of the accident report is sent to the trade supervisory authorities and to other organizations as necessary.

The incident/accident management component gives you the support you need to comply with such statutory requirements by providing the following functions:

Besides entering recordable accidents, you have the option of recording accidents that result in an employee being absent from work for less than three days, or not being absent at all. You can also enter any ‘near-accidents.‘

You can evaluate the data in the incident/accident log using the information system. For example, you can determine the 1000-employee quota or 1,000,000-hour quota.

Incident/accident log entries and accident reports can be displayed and edited only by employees who have the appropriate authorization. The authorization check takes place in incident/accident management using the incident/accident log entry type (authorization object C_EHSI_IAL).
