When creating and changing outbound deliveries, you can add the following objects to them:
You can use this function, if, for example, the sales department was not sure whether a material was to be delivered with packaging material or in a returnable packaging container.
Prerequisites for adding to an outbound delivery are that goods issue has not yet been posted for the outbound delivery and that the business transaction has not yet been invoiced.
Creating order-independent items
You can only enter an item that is not dependent on an order in an outbound delivery if the delivery permits the item category for that item. The item category is determined on the basis of the delivery type and item category group in the material master record. Thus, items for which an order has to be created first cannot be added to an outbound delivery. Your system configuration dictates which materials can be included in an outbound delivery. In the standard version of the SAP System, only materials with the item category VERP can be added to a delivery.
In order to add items such as packaging materials, which are not dependent on an order, to a delivery, proceed as follows:
The Change Outbound Delivery screen appears.
The overview screen appears.

The order items that are due for delivery are included in the delivery if their shipping criteria match the shipping criteria of the delivery.
