Purpose

The SAP US Federal Government (USFG) solution provides functions required specifically by the Federal Government of the United States.

Implementation Considerations

To be able to use USFG, you need to have Funds Management (FM), Financial Accounting (FI), and Public Sector (IS-PS) installed.

Integration

The USFG solution is a country-specific feature in the standard Public Sector application component developed by SAP.

Features

The solution includes the following features:

This feature enables you to handle payments made by the U.S. Department of the Treasury on behalf of agencies of the Federal Government.

This feature enables you to post to budgetary account in accordance with the U.S. Government Standard General Ledger.

This feature enables you to comply with the requirements of U.S. federal legislation on paying invoices promptly and taking advantage of discounts.

With this feature, you can use the SAP system to work with FACTS I (Federal Agencies’ Centralized Trial Balance System I). Federal government agencies are required to use this system to submit their Adjusted Trial Balances (ATB) annually to the U.S. Treasury.

With this feature, you can use the SAP system to work with FACTS II (Federal Agencies‘ Centralized Trial Balance System II). Federal government agencies are required to use this system to submit quarterly their U.S. Standard General Ledger (SGL) budgetary account trial balances and selected proprietary account balances to the U.S. Treasury.

The budgeting process in the Federal Government solution varies slightly from the standard procedure.

The Federal Government solution also includes enhancements to other functions, including the fiscal year close and revenues increasing the budget.
