Changing Control Level Texts
Use
In the Query G1 to Query G5 examples, the standard texts available with SAP Query have been used as control level texts and sub-total texts. However, you do not have to use these standard texts. You are able to specify texts of your own instead.
Integration
The previous Query G1 to Query G2 examples showed you how to design the layout of your list by selecting the Text, Total, and Counter columns of a control level on the Control Levels screen.
If you select the Text column, a text (control level text) containing the field contents is displayed at the start of the control level, meaning whenever the contents of the field changes.
If you select the Total column, the sub-total for all the fields used to generate the total is displayed at the end of the control level. Here again, a text is displayed (a sub-total text) describing the control level and containing the contents of the control level field.
If you select the Counter column, the number of times the counted fields in this control level appear in the dataset is displayed at the end of the control level. A text is displayed describing the control level and containing the contents of the control level field.
Prerequisites
You are on the Control Levels screen in the Basic List series of screens.
Procedure
Proceed as follows to specify your own texts for control levels:

On this screen, there is a sub-total text and a counter text for the Flight Date control level, because you selected the Total and Counter columns for this control level on the Control Levels screen. If you had also selected the Text column, the control level text would also be displayed on the screen. The standard texts provided by SAP Query are also displayed.
The templates in the texts (with "<" and ">" as delimiters) are placeholders for the contents of the control level field, that is, in the list, the template is replaced by the field contents. The characters "<" and ">" are not part of the template and are ignored when the field is displayed. Each underscore in the template represents a character of the field contents. If you insert other characters in the template or change the number of underscores, the field contents are re-formatted accordingly.
If you have already changed the texts and then decide you want to use the standard texts after all, you can reinstate them with the Standard header function.
