Use / Features
The automatic posting function works through all the planned records existing on a certain key date and selects all items due for contracts which have posting control key 01.
Planned records are usually generated when the first disbursement on a loan is made. You can alter the settings in Customizing if you want the planned records to be generated at an earlier point in time (for example, for commitment interest). You must ensure that the planned records for a loan have already been generated if you want a loan to be posted automatically.
The items due are posted on the basis of the settings defined in account determination.
The posting run also:
If you have set the Incoming payment field for the flow type in Customizing for loans (Define Flow Types), the automatic posting function clears the receivables generated immediately. Parallel to the receivable, the system generates a corresponding incoming payment posting (in the case of loans given, it posts bank clearing to customer). This incoming payment clears the receivable.
If planned records for receivables have references to advance payments (loans given), the automatic posting function clears these receivables when they become due. In addition to the receivable item, the system generates and clears the following postings:
a. Clear advance payment
b. Incoming payment from advance payment
The automatic posting function also takes account of subsidies for loans given. If the conditions defined in the contract specify that the payments relating to a receivable are to be made by different parties, the system splits the automatic posting into the respective parts for the main borrower and the subsidy offices. In the subledger, these postings are assigned to the loan, and hence to the main borrower. In the general ledger, the main borrower’s part is managed on the corresponding customer account (for loans given), while the subsidizer’s part(s) are managed on separate customer accounts.
If you only create planned records for automatic posting when you disburse the loan, the system also creates and posts the following planned records:
If drawings are saved with the disbursement, the system generates the following planned records for each drawing:
a. Disbursement reduction
b. Credit memo from drawing
Drawings do not appear in the loan subledger and the account statement.
If you have specified that the planned records should be withheld from the disbursement amount, the following postings are created automatically for the disbursement (in addition to the receivable):
a. Disbursement reduction
b. Withholding from disbursement (as incoming payment)
The receivable is cleared with the incoming payment from the disbursement.
If you have created an additional planned record for a withholding for an overdue item with the disbursement, the system generates the posting for the disbursement reduction automatically. The disbursement reduction does not appear in the subledger or in the account statement, but the amount withheld is disclosed.
If any errors occur during the automatic posting run, none of the planned records for the related contract are processed. The system skips the contract producing the errors. The error log lists contracts which contain errors and which have to be processed again.
