When creating new objects, you can simplify the process by copy existing objects (or sub-objects).

Caution

When you copy a program, the system uses the active version of the source object. Only in the case of function groups and function modules does the system ask whether you want to use the active or the inactive versions.

Prerequisites

If the source object contains sub-objects, decide which of the sub-objects you want to copy.

Procedure

  1. Select the required object.
  2. Choose Copy from the context menu.
  3. Enter a name for the target object.
  4. This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

  5. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Copy.
  6. A dialog box appears in which you can enter further sub-objects.

  7. Select the individual sub-objects that you want to copy.
  8. If you want to copy a program’s includes, another dialog box appears in which you can select the includes individually and assign new names to them.

  9. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Copy.
  10. Assign a package to the sub-object.
  11. You do not have to do this with local objects.

  12. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text to confirm your entries.

Result

The new object was created in the R/3 Repository and its inactive version is included in the object list.
