Operating concern templates are industry-specific example operating concerns delivered by SAP in a specific environment. This environment enables you, for example, to call up Customizing and to run demos (such as executing a profitability report), and it thereby quickly provides you with an insight into the possible uses of Profitability Analysis (CO-PA). You are not required to have any specialist knowledge about the application to use this quickstart function.

You can also use the operating concern template as a sample CO-PA operating concern in your productive system.

Operating concern templates are not integrated in existing applications. You can only activate integrated flows of values from the other applications you use into CO-PA when you copy an operating concern template.

The following operating concern templates are delivered:

• An industry-independent operating concern template (Quickstart)
• A template for the consumer goods industry
• A template for airline companies for route profitability

In the environment for the operating concern templates, the individual templates are available on the left-hand side of the screen. You use to call up information that appears on the right-hand side of the screen. By double-clicking a template, you jump to the details view where the possible functions are presented in a tree structure. You can choose to call up documentation on each function. By double-clicking a function, you either perform the function or access the corresponding IMG activity.

You call up the environment for operating concern templates in Customizing by choosing Structures ® Define Operating Concern ® Operating Concern Templates ® Use SAP Operating Concern Templates.
