Prerequisites

You have defined and saved the workflow or the task that is to be executed with the Web form.

Procedure

The generation of the web transaction is only possible from the definition environment of a task. If you want to create a web transaction for a workflow, you have to open the task definition of the relevant multistep task.

  1. Open the task definition in change mode. Note that the task must be saved before the web transaction is generated.
  2. Choose Goto ® Web Transaction.
  3. The following dialog box is then displayed: Web Transaction for Task...: Generate/Assign. If a web transaction has already been generated for this task, all web transaction data is displayed. To update the web transaction, you must first delete the existing web transaction.

  4. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.
  5. Note

Do not make any entries in the Transaction code field.

The system then creates a transaction including a module pool and screens. All parts of the web transaction created are saved in the package, in which the task is also saved. After the web transaction is completely created, the Web Transaction for Task ...: dialog box is displayed again. Generate/Assign. All data of the web transaction created is displayed here.

  6. Click Continue to exit this dialog box.

Result

A Web transaction with a module pool and four screens has now been created in the system. The various screens in this transaction are used to execute a work item and start a workflow or a task. For more information, see Generating Web Transactions.

Note

If you change the container after you have generated the Web transaction, you must delete the transaction in the Web Transaction for Task...: Change screen and regenerate it for the changes to take effect.

To test the web transaction, you can call it directly in the SAP System. Proceed as follows:

  1. Start the Web transaction by entering the name of the transaction in the command field of the SAP System.
  2. Do not enter any data on the Start Form Processing screen. Choose Continue.
  3. A screen is then displayed in which you can select the import parameters for the container.

  4. Choose a few entries here as a test.
  5. Choose Transfer.
  6. The workflow or the task is started and a work item is generated. The number of the generated work item is displayed on the Confirm Form screen.

  7. Choose Confirm.
