Carrying Out Completeness Checks

Use

You carry out a completeness check to check whether the handling units (HUs) that were picked for the process order are staged at the production line.

Depending on whether the completeness check for the process order or operation/phase was created in the master recipe, you can

Carry out a completeness check for the whole process order at the beginning of the production
Carry out a completeness check at the beginning of an operation or phase

You can carry out the completeness check for:

Complete quantities

All HUs that were picked for the process order are checked.

Start quantities

For each material to be used, at least one unit of measure must be available. All picked HUs do not have to be checked. One partial quantity per material is enough for the start quantity.

Goods issue posting

Since the identification is carried out directly before the actual use of the material, the material consumption can also be posted as goods issue at this time. In this case, the system carries out the GI posting automatically at the end of the sequence check if no separate goods issue posting is maintained in the master recipe.

The goods issue posting of the components is carried out at HU level. The quantity of all materials with all batches that are filled in HUs is posted as a goods issue.

A partial good issue posting of an HU is not possible. Only the complete HU can be posted as goods issue. In the case of an error, the complete HU is refused.

An independent goods issue document is created for each HU.

Prerequisites

The standard process instruction category MI_HUCMP is maintained in the master recipe.

The materials required for production were picked.
The HUs that are to be identified have not yet been posted as a goods issue.

The can be the case, for example, if a completeness check with an automatic goods issue posting took place before the sequence check.

Procedure

Choose Completeness Check in the PI sheet.

If maintained accordingly in the process instructions, the HUs for the process order or operation/phase are displayed.

Enter the identification number for the picked HUs.

a. If your terminal has a barcode scanner connected to it, you can enter it in this way. The barcode scanner dialog does not take place in the R/3 System.

b. The system uses a symbol to inform you whether the identification number you entered is correct.

Ending the completeness check:

If all picked HUs were entered correctly, you can exit the completeness check by choosing Save.

The completeness check is confirmed as successful in the PI sheet.

If the completeness check cannot be completed successfully, an error message appears as well as a corresponding note in the PI sheet.

The completeness check is complete when all of the picked HUs for a process order or operation/phase have been identified.

Automatic GI posting, if maintained in the master recipe:

The system automatically posts the consumption of the components for the process order or operation/phase as a goods issue.

Messages are sent to the process message destination PI51. Use the message monitor to check whether the messages were processed correctly.

The data from the completeness check and the goods issue posting are transferred to the batch record. Use the message monitor to check whether the messages were processed correctly.
