Creating Steps
Use
You create a step in a workflow definition, for example, to execute a task or to control the workflow. A step is always created in a
block. This block contains at least this step and its defined outcomes.Procedure
You can create a new step in the workflow definition by either changing an undefined step, or creating a new step between two existing nodes.

Inserting tasks from the object area
You can insert a task or workflow displayed in the tray
My workflows and tasks into the workflow definition as an activity.
When you have selected a workflow, you can also choose Include workflow definition. The steps of the selected workflow definition are then inserted.
Result
If you have created a new step, a step of the chosen step type is inserted at the chosen position/replaces the undefined step. You go directly to the step definition.

Depending on the settings in the Workflow Builder options, additional undefined steps are inserted for some steps in the workflow definition.
For more information, see
Step Types and Their Symbols. If you have inserted a task or workflow from the object area, an activity that refers to the chosen task or workflow is inserted into the workflow definition.

The binding is created automatically by the system and you can adapt it to suit your requirements.
