The following info object classes can be used for creating HTML-based contents:

As in the other areas, structures are used to combine content objects into a hierarchically organized table of contents in which the user can navigate. They are displayed in the browser in the frame for tables of contents (TOC frame). Structures are not language-specific.

Directories are a special type of structure. They have only one hierarchy level below the root object. In contrast to the objects of class KWN_STRUCT, directories are displayed in the frame for content objects (content frame) and not in the TOC frame.

HTML objects are the most frequently used content objects in the HTML-Based Documents area. The editing format and presentation format are the same for this info object class. The contents of HTML objects are categorized with the Content type attribute.

Note

To categorize the contents of HTML objects, you must create the appropriate Structure linkcontent templates.

Multimedia objects are also content objects. They have the same properties as the multimedia objects of other areas: They can be created and edited with any Microsoft Windows application whose file format is registered as a valid format for this object class in SAP KW. The source format and presentation format of multimedia objects are the same. Depending on the MIME type of the application, the browser configuration, and the local installation of the application, multimedia objects are displayed either in the frame for content objects or by the application in a separate window.

Layout and Format

In addition to the above classes, the HTML-Based Documents area provides other info object classes that control the layout and format of the contents in the Web browser. These include:

Info objects of this class define the number, size, and frame arrangement in the browser.

Info objects of this class define the format (background color, font, and so on) of the different frames.

Info objects of this class define the way in which contents are output in the content frame. They are only needed if there are complex display requirements for certain info objects, such as dividing the content frame into subframes depending on defined conditions. An example of this is the info objects of the class Slide in the Training area, where users can divide the content frame into two subframes so that they can display a training slide and the relevant notes at the same time.
