Procedure documentation Configuring the RFC Out Service Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Procedure

1.       In the Exchange System Manager, select the RFCOut Services node under the SXC Gateway node for the SAP Exchange Connector that you want to configure.

2.       A list of all RFC Out services installed for the SAP Exchange Connector in question is displayed in the details pane on the right. The list usually contains just one service. Select the appropriate service in the details pane on the right, and invoke the context menu.

3.       Choose Properties.

4.       Make entries on the tab pages as follows:

RFC

System data

Select one of the two options offered for registering the RFC Out service as an RFC server at an SAP Gateway:

Register at SAP Gateway

Select this option if you do not want to specify the information in the configuration file Saprfc.ini. Specify the gateway server at which the connector is to register, the gateway service (in the form in which it appears in the directory WINNT/system32/drivers/etc/services), and the program ID with which the connector is to register at the gateway.

Use SAPRFC.INI

Select this option if you want to specify the information in the configuration file Saprfc.ini. The destination name specified must be identical to the name in the Saprfc.ini file.

Number of retries

Specify how many attempts should be made to establish a connection between RFC Out and SAPconnect if this has been interrupted.

Delay in seconds

Specify how many seconds are to be waited until a new attempt is made to establish a connection between RFC Out and SAPconnect.

Service

Display name

The name of the RFC Out service as displayed under Services in the Control Panel.

Account

Specify the service account under which the RFC Out service is to be started under Microsoft Windows 2000. Make this entry in the notation [domain]\[account]. You are strongly recommended to use the account used during installation of the connector. You should not use LocalSystem here.

Password

Password for the service account (case-sensitive).

Password confirmation

Password again.

Service ID

Specify a unique number for identification of each SAP Exchange Connector service published in the Exchange administrative group. This service ID cannot be assigned to any other Gateway, RFC In or RFC Out service.

Logging

Specify the desired log output by selecting File and/or Event Log. For each category of error, specify the level of information to be output. The default settings are Event Log and minimum/maximum/maximum. You can select the SAP Support Level checkbox at runtime to increase the level of information to maximum for all three categories of error if required.

5.       Confirm your entries with OK.

Result

You have specified the RFC information and must now create an RFC connection in the SAP system.
