Procedure documentation Configuring the RFC In Service Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Procedure

1.       In the Exchange System Manager, select the RFCIn Services node under the SXC Gateway node for the SAP Exchange Connector that you want to configure.

2.       A list of all RFC In services installed for the SAP Exchange Connector in question is displayed in the details pane on the right. The list usually contains just one service. Select the appropriate service in the details pane on the right, and invoke the context menu.

3.       Choose Properties.

4.       Make entries on the tab pages as follows:

RFC

System data

Select one of the three options offered for specifying the RFC information for the RFC In service:

Use message server

Select this option if you want to use Structure linkload balancing when the RFC user logs on to the SAP system. Specify message server name, SAP system name and logon group.

Use application server

Select this option if you do not want to use Structure linkload balancing when the RFC user logs on to the SAP system. Specify application server name and SAP system number.

Use SAPRFC.INI

Select this option if you want to specify the RFC information in the configuration file Saprfc.ini. The destination name specified must be identical to the name in the Saprfc.ini file.

Logon data

Client

Specify the client onto which the RFC user logs on.

Language

Specify the language in which the RFC user logs on. Trace information and error messages are in this language.

User

Specify the SAP user name under which the RFC In service logs on. The user should only have authorization for communication with SAPconnect (SAP profile S_A.SCON).

Password

Specify the RFC user’s password.

RFC Trace

Specify whether the log information exchanged between RFC In and SAPconnect, that being the RFC trace, is to be stored in a trace file.

ABAP Debug

Select this option if you want to debug SAPconnect. There must be a SAP GUI installed on the computer for debugging.

Service

Display name

The name of the RFC In service as displayed under Services in the Control Panel.

Account

Specify the service account under which the RFC In service is to be started under Microsoft Windows 2000. Make this entry in the notation [domain]\ [account]. You are strongly recommended to use the account used during installation of the connector. You should not use LocalSystem here.

Password

Password for the service account (case-sensitive).

Password confirmation

Password again.

Service ID

Specify a unique number for identification of each SAP Exchange Connector service published in the Exchange administrative group. This service ID cannot be assigned to any other Gateway, RFC In or RFC Out service.

Logging

Specify the desired log output by selecting File and/or Event Log. For each category of error, specify the level of information to be output. The default settings are Event Log and minimum/maximum/maximum. You can select the SAP Support Level checkbox at runtime to increase the level of information to maximum for all three categories of error if required.

Dead Letter

Here you can specify details of a recipient for any dead letters (inbound communication that does not have a valid recipient). This would often be an administrator.

Retry

Specify intervals for trying to establish a connection to the SAP target system if this system is not available. Also specify maximum delay times for the three levels of message priority. If the maximum delay time is reached, an NDR is created and the message is deleted.

5.     Confirm your entries with OK.

Result

You have specified the RFC information and must now create an RFC connection in the SAP system.
