Prerequisites

Log on to the Microsoft Windows 2000 computer on which the connector is to be set up as the account with which Exchange was installed. This installation account must:

As Microsoft Windows 2000 system services, the SAP Exchange Connector services require a service account under which they can be started. This service account must:

Usually the same user will be used as the installation account and the service account.

Exchange must be running during installation.

There must be a mailbox container for the SAP Exchange Connector mailboxes on the Exchange server. You can create a new container in the Exchange System Manager or use the existing general recipient container.

Procedure

From the SAP System Components CD

SAP Exchange Connector is available on the SAP System Components CD. Installation takes place according to the SAP setup procedure.

From the SAP Service Marketplace

SAP Exchange Connector is also available for download and installation from the SAP Service Marketplace. For more details, see the SAP Note 73360.

Once the SAP Exchange Connector is installed, create an instance of the SAP Exchange Connector as follows:

  1. In the Exchange System Manager, navigate through the appropriate administrative group and the appropriate routing group to locate the Connectors container. Invoke the context menu for this container and choose New. Then choose SAP Exchange Connector... from the options offered as below.

  1. Make entries in the fields as follows.

Server

Enter the name of the Microsoft Windows 2000 server on which Exchange is installed. Do not enter preceding backslashes "\\" when entering this name.

Remember that in the stand-alone variant the server name will be different from the name of the local computer.

Gateway, RfcIn, RfcOut

Enter names of your choice. You are recommended to use the SAP system name and client.

Container, Storage group, Mailbox store, Address list

Choose the relevant entries using the input help.

  1. Choose OK.
  2. Store the administration log file that is displayed, so it can be used now or later in the event of any errors.
  3. Restart the Exchange System Manager to view the results.

Result

An instance of the SAP Exchange Connector is installed on the local computer.
