Specification Assignment

Use

This function enables you to assign several specifications to a report. The report is then generated for a particular specification and can then be used in report shipping for that specification and all assigned specifications.

The number of reports required in the SAP System is thus reduced.

Features

Specifications are assigned in the report header within report management. You can only assign specifications for which no released reports for the same generation variant exist.

Specification assignment can be defined differently for each report version. When creating new versions (or when replacing one version with another), the new report "inherits" the specification assignments of the previously valid report.

However, changes are not entered automatically in all existing report versions.

Note

If specification data for a specification assigned to a report is changed, an entry is not automatically made in the worklist. You must check if the assigned report fits with the changed data.

You must also check if the assignment is valid if you change the specification for which the report was generated.
