Use

Basically, there are two ways of linking up a theme to a BSP application.
These are:

Customizing

Using a Customizing setting, you avoid having to modify the respective BSP application. This is a client-specific, Customizing setting. Therefore, if required, several themes can be linked to one and the same BSP application.

You set the theme assignment in the Web Application Builder. The objects are transported separately from the BSP application.

Modification

The theme is assigned by explicitly adding a property to the delivered BSP application. In this case, you assign the theme to the BSP application. The theme can then override an assignment defined using the Customizing function.

Here, too, you set the theme assignment in the Web Application Builder. The objects are transported together with the BSP application.

Note

If you do not wish to assign a BSP application to a fixed theme, we recommend using the Customizing function.

Procedure

Assigning a theme using Customizing

  1. Select the BSP application, if you have not already done so.
  2. Choose the Assign theme function from the application toolbar.
  3. Alternatively, you can access this function from any place in the Web Application Builder by choosing the menu path Goto ® Assign theme.

  4. In the displayed dialog window, click the This graphic is explained in the accompanying text icon to switch to change mode.
  5. Save your assignment.

Assigning a theme using the modification function

  1. Select the BSP application, if you have not already done so.
  2. Switch to Change mode, if required.
  3. Click the Properties tab and enter the required theme.
  4. Save your changes.

Result

The changes to the MIME objects take effect at runtime in all the referenced pages of the respective BSP application.
