Use

As of Release 4.6C, it is no longer possible to create your line item list using line item layouts that were defined in the Report Painter. Instead, you need to use the SAP List Viewer (ALV) Structure link Layouts (referred to as "display variants" prior to Release 4.6C) and to save your existing line item layouts as ALV layouts.

Procedure

To save your existing line item layouts as ALV layouts, proceed as follows:

  1. On the selection screen, enter the line item layout that you wish to convert and call up the list.
  2. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text (Save layout...). If the layout is to be used as your standard layout (initial layout), select the Default values indicator.
  3. If you want to convert more line item layouts, choose Extras ® Change line item layout and proceed as described above.

Result

The ALV layouts that you saved can now be called up from the selection screen or the line item list.

Note

If you call up the layouts from the selection screen via the Layout field, you can call up the old line item layouts as well as the ALV layouts. The old line item layouts are listed at the end of the possible functions. If an ALV layout and a line item layout have the same name and you select it via the possible entries function, then only the line item layout is used. If, on the other hand, you enter the name manually, then the ALV layout is used as the list structure.
