
Editing a Sales Activity
You can now create, change and display sales activities with just one transaction. It leads to a clear comprehensible screen, containing both your personal worklist and the relevant sales activity. For more information about using the worklist, see
Working with the Personal Worklist.Depending on how your system is configured, the information proposed by the system and the data you must enter may vary for the different activity types.
Prerequisites
Configure your system settings in Customizing for Sales Support to meet the needs of your organization. Here, you can define special activity types in addition to those provided in the standard system as well as ten freely-definable descriptions that can be applied to sales activities.
- Certain authorizations need to be set in Customizing to control which users are authorized to create, change or just display sales activities. These authorizations are set in Customizing under:

Procedure
To create a sales activity:
- From the SAP standard menu, choose Logistics
®
Sales and Distribution
®
Sales support. Then choose Sales activities ®
Edit.
- If you wish to process an existing sales activity, you can either choose the relevant object in your worklist, or choose Sales activity ®
Get and use the following dialog box to search for the activity.
If you do not choose an existing sales activity, the screen is ready for you to create a new sales activity.
- In the Sales activity section, choose the type of activity from the drop-down box.
- Enter a short description of the sales activity in the Comment field.
You can use your short description to search for the direct mailing later.
- In the Contact persons section, enter the customer with whom you are making the contact.
If the system does not accept your entry, it issues an error message and blocks all further entries in the sales activity. To reset the system without leaving the sales activity, use the Reset if incorrect button. The system automatically deletes your last entry and reopens the fields.
- If the sales area data is not automatically proposed, enter the data in the Organizational unit section.
- Once you have entered this basic data, you can:
- Call a customer/contact person directly from the sales activity using the
telephone button
- Save the sales activity. If you have not entered all the required data, the system informs you that you need to edit the
incomplete data.
Result
The sales activity is displayed in your personal worklist, depending on the scope of display for the worklist.
You can send the sales activity to any of your colleagues for information or follow-up, by choosing Send with note.
