You can plan costs for general cost objects that have a periodic time base and whose cost object category allows planning as follows:

  1. Choose Accounting ® Controlling ® Product Cost Controlling ® Cost Object Controlling ® Intangible Goods and Services ® Planning ® Cost Object - Periodic ® Set Planner Profile.
  2. The dialog box Set Planner Profile appears.

  3. Enter the desired planner profile (SAP101 or SAP102).
  4. First choose User master record and then ENTER .

  5. Choose Planning ® Periodic Planning Cost Object ® Cost/Activity/Process Inputs ® Change.
  6. This screen appears: Periodic Cost Object Planning Cost Elements/Activity Input Change: Initial Screen

    Enter data as required.

    Choose ENTER and then Overview screen.

    The screen Periodic Cost Object Planning Cost Elements/Activity Input Change: Overview Screen appears. The planning layout determines what cells can be entered or changed.

  7. Enter the fixed and variable quantities or the fixed and variable costs.
  8. Choose ENTER . The system calculates the planned costs for your general cost object.

  9. Save the cost estimate.
  10. Press Period screen to see the planned costs and the planned consumption for each period.

Note

You cannot plan overhead for general cost objects that have a periodic time base. However, it is still possible to distribute overhead costs to different general cost objects that have a periodic time base by using statistical key figures. The statistical key figures then serve as equivalences.
