Which Connector Suits Your Constellation? 

The diagram below enables you to decide whether your software constellation is suitable for SAP Exchange Connector, SAP Internet Mail Gateway, or SAP ESMTP mail connection.

 

 

Legend:

SXC = SAP Exchange Connector

SAP IMGW = SAP Internet Mail Gateway

SAP ESMTP = SAP ESMTP mail connection

*     = SAP Internet Mail Gateway should only be used in exceptional circumstances, because of the following disadvantages:

-         Fax/X.400 via Exchange not possible

-         Possibility of no status messages

-         Sendmail and infrastructure required

**    = SAP Exchange Connector 1.54/2.0 should only be used in exceptional circumstances, such as if other Exchange connectors are to be used
