The retention period for material documents can be configured in Customizing for Inventory Management. In the standard system, the retention period is 200 calendar days. The posting date contained in the material document header is the key date for the retention period

If no entry has been made in the Customizing system, the system uses the value assigned to parameter SYS_TAGE in program RM08MMR1 (in the standard system: 9999 days).

In the Customizing system of Inventory Management you can set the retention period for material documents per plant and transaction type via Define document life. In the standard system, this is 200 calendar days for all transaction/event types. Plant and transaction type can be hidden.
