Filter Settings of the Availability Control

Use

You define a selection of Budget Types in the filter settings of the availability control that are intended for the "consumption" of commitment/actual data. You can release budget as you wish by outsourcing different budget types in the budget control system. The only budget data that is updated in the active availability control in the AVC ledger is that which you have defined as consumable budget.

Example

You can control the free release of budget during the fiscal year, for each quarter for example, through different budget types.

Integration

In BCS budgeting, you can transfer budget data from one budget type to another with a mass run. For more information, see Transferring Between Budget Types.

Features

If you do not define any budget types as consumable budget, all budget data posted in Funds Management is updated in the availability control. As soon as you define a filter setting, this restricted selection applies.

You can differentiate for each budget type whether only posted budget or preposted posted budget should be updated. If you also update preposted posted budget, only postings that lower the budget are included.

You can also set up your own ledger for the availability control in which you check budget values against consumable budget instead of assigned amounts. In such cases, you must also define budget values as assigned amounts as well as consumable budget.

Consumable budget for each fund/fund type

You can copy the general Customizing settings of budget types in to the AVC filter settings. In the general Customizing settings, you can define the valid budget types for each fund or fund type. You define these settings in the Customizing of Funds Management, under Budget Control System (BCS) ® BCS Budgeting ® Budget Type ® Define Budget Type for Consumable Budget.
