Log Off User
Use
This function is used to log off users that are currently logged on to the system.
The system keeps the relevant information in a session pool, so that user sessions can be quickly re-established. Entries in this pool can also be discarded.
Prerequisites
You are already in the User List screen.
Procedure
Select the user(s) that you want to log off.
Choose User ®
Log off. A dialog box opens. Here, you can select whether you want to log off Pooled sessions only or System-wide. Therefore, you can log off users in the following ways:
- If you do not select anything and choose , the selected users who are logged onto the local instance are logged off. Any sessions of these users on other application servers in the SAP system remain open.
- If you select Pooled sessions only, all pooled sessions of the selected user are terminated. Pooled sessions are contexts that the system keeps in a pool. This means that the system does not have to set up a new context every time for RFC or plug-ins. If the user is currently working in the system, he or she does not notice anything if their session pool is terminated.
- If you choose System-wide, the selected users are logged off in the entire SAP system (that is, in all instances).
- System-wide
and Pooled sessions only both remove all sessions of the selected user from the session pool in all instances.
Result
The selected users are logged off from the SAP system. Choose to refresh the display and see the most up-to-date list of users.
