Use

For the manual entry of planning data, you can use the Forecast function to determine anticipated values for individual profitability segments on the basis of a time series.

Features

The forecast function for sales and profit planning is essentially the same as that for sales and operations planning (SOP). The system supports a number of Structure link forecast models, including constant, trend and seasonal models. The models and Structure link forecast parameters are specified in forecast profiles that you define in Customizing for Profitability Analysis under Planning ® Planning Aids ® Forecast Profile. Predictions can be made for any time periods and on the basis of both planning and actual data.

Activities

  1. Select the profitability segments for which you wish to forecast values and then choose Edit ® Planning methods ® Forecast.
  2. Enter the forecast data as well as the past data that is to serve as the basis for calculating the forecast.
  3. Enter a forecast profile OR select the Interactive indicator. By entering the forecast profile AND selecting the Interactive indicator, the data for the forecast profile is shown as the default values.
