Use

To analyze your profitability data in drilldown reporting, you execute a report that has been defined in accordance with your requirements.

Features

There are several ways of executing a report:

Independently of how you execute the report, a selection screen appears. Since it should be as easy as possible for the user to execute a report, most of the settings are made during report definition (see Defining Profitability Reports) and only a few settings need to be made here:

You specify which data should be read. Moreover, you can change the output type setting made in report definition. To save the effort of having to enter the same values often, you can define selection variants by choosing Goto ® Variant ® Save as variant and use it to execute the report in the background.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text

A drilldown report can select new data when you call it up or you can have it work with a dataset that was saved on a previous occasion (frozen report data). If several options are available, the system displays a dialog box containing all the available options when you run the report. The possible options are as follows:

Then the report is displayed using the output type you set. You can store as frozen report data the displayed status of the report. However, you can only execute this function (menu option Report ® Freeze data) if given the authorization to store frozen report data.

Note

If all selection characteristics are predefined as standard in the report definition or in the form, the report is executed directly without calling up the selection screen.
