Functions in the Information System 

You can carry out standard profitability reports as well as reports that analyze line items (see Analysis Types).

When you use the interactive drilldown reporting tool, you can draw on any important business indicators (key figures) you wish. You can also perform variance analyses (plan/actual comparisons, fiscal year comparisons, comparisons of profitability segments, and so on). You can display several profitability segments for any key figure, or several key figures for any profitability segment.

You can choose between different output types for displaying a drilldown report. For example, with graphic report output, you can split the report into different information areas. With classic drilldown, you can use a range of drilldown functions to navigate in the dataset (for example, you can move from one segment to the next level or the next segment within a level, deactivate a level, switch between detail and overview lists, and display the origins of the data).

Drilldown reporting offers you a number of other functions for editing online reports (conditions, sort orders, top n lists and so on). The information system also has interfaces to SAP graphics, SAPmail and the ABAP List Viewer. Other than the dialog functions, the information system also provides functions for printing reports or calling up inSight (see Connection to inSight).

When you execute a report, you can "freeze", or save the selected report data so that it can be called up again later. This leads to improved response times when you display report data.

The drilldown functions are divided into three levels that differ in the number of functions available. Each user can choose or be assigned the function level that suits his or her requirements.
