Profitability Analysis provides you with different functions to meet different requirements for using prices to help you plan.

By entering ratios directly in your planning layout, you can easily calculate prices and simulate price, value, and quantity changes without using pricing from the Sales and Distribution (SD) application component.

You can do this directly during manual entry of planning data.

See also Price Planning Using Ratios.

Using ratios and ratio schemes, you can valuate a plan version with average prices from actual data or a reference plan version. This makes it possible to plan your prices and quantities separately and still use these prices to valuate your quantities.

This function is available for the manual entry of planning data (see the section Ratios) and with the automatic planning method Ratios.

To valuate revenues and sales deductions in planning, you can use conditions defined in CO-PA as well as conditions used in price determination in SD (see the paragraph on Valuation Using SD Price Determination (SD Costing Sheet) in the section Activate Valuation in Planning).
