Processing an ALE Distribution Unit

Use

You send data to other R/3 systems or receive data from other R/3 systems. The data is collected in ALE distribution units.

Features

In the top-left screen area, you see the overview tree of the ALE distribution unit, with all assigned ALE distribution packets. The access node is the ALE distribution unit. The subordinate nodes are the ALE distribution packets.

For processing, you select an ALE distribution packet or unit by double-clicking on it, or select the ALE distribution packet or unit, then choose Edit à Select Packet.

In the top-right screen area, you see the detail information on the ALE distribution unit (unit, partner, direction, type, and status), and any ALE distribution packet you have selected (packet name and status). If no data for an ALE distribution packet is displayed, the ALE distribution unit is currently selected.

At the bottom of the screen, you see the detail data for the object selected in the overview tree:

The object list and distribution unit are created dynamically from the object lists of the packets. The object list can only be changed at distribution unit level.

Functions

For processing ALE distribution units, the following functions are available as pushbuttons:

	Previous unit	Goes to the previously processed ALE distribution unit
	Other unit	Selects another ALE distribution unit
	Next unit	Goes to the next ALE distribution unit in the list of processed ALE distribution units
	Display/change	Changes the processing mode
	Refresh	Refreshes the display
	Export correction	Exports a correction packet
	Import correction	Imports a correction packet from another ALE distribution unit
	Send	Sends the IDocs of the objects and packets of the ALE distribution unit
	Post	Posts the received IDocs
	Copy object list of unit	Copies the object list of the ALE distribution unit to a new ALE distribution unit
	Copy object list of original packet	Copies the object list of the original packet to a new ALE distribution unit
	Log	Displays the transfer log (send) or the posting log (receive) for the ALE distribution unit

In the Edit menu, the following functions are available:

Menu	Description
Display/change	Changes the processing mode
Other unit	Selects another ALE distribution unit
Delete	Deletes the ALE distribution unit, provided that it is not yet released
Select packet	Selects the packet or ALE distribution unit at the cursor for processing
Create correction	Creates a correction packet
Delete previous correction	Deletes the last correction packet, provided that it is not yet released

In the Outbound menu, the following functions are available:

Menu	Description
Automatic object serialization	Defines the serialization parameters in the object list (levels 1, 2, and 3)
Send packets	Sends the objects in the ALE distribution unit
Process IDocs	Starts postprocessing for IDocs that have not been sent. The necessity depends on the IDoc type and its ALE Customizing (partner profile).

In the Inbound menu, the following functions are available:

Menu	Description
Find object IDocs	Starts identification for IDocs that have not been identified. The necessity depends on the IDoc type and its ALE Customizing (partner profile).
Post	Posts IDocs of the ALE distribution unit

The following functions for distribution or receipt of data are available on the Object list tab pages:

Insert rows		Appends 25 empty rows to the object list
	Detail view	Displays the selected objects
	Display IDoc	Displays the IDocs for the selected objects

	Filter	Sets a filter for displaying the object list
	Delete filter	Deletes the filter for the object list
	Post individual IDocs	Posts the selected IDocs, ignoring serialization
