
Backup Medium (NetWorker)
Use
If you want to perform backups or restores with the external backup tool NetWorker, you must define the appropriate backup media with the Database Manager.
Procedure
To create the backup medium, follow the procedure described in the Database Manger documentation.

Commands for Backup Media
The
media name must begin with the character string NSR.
Definition of a pipe as a medium for an incremental data backup with a DBMCLI command (Windows NT):
dbmcli -d <database_name> -u <userid>,<password> medium_put NSR123 \\.\pipe\Example pipe pages
The backup medium must be a pipe and must not have any capacity limits.
The name of the pipe must be specified as an absolute path. The pipes used must not exist.
The absolute name of the pipe must be identical at backups and restores. Note that file or directory paths that are specified as links are resolved by the backup tool NetWorker.
