Promoting Existing Index Entries to Terminology Entries

Use

As of Release 4.6D, it is possible to change an existing index entry into a terminology entry, enabling the old index entry to have a dual function as term and index entry.

Prerequisites

It is not possible to use this promotion procedure for index entries, such as "company code, create", which consist of a main entry (company code) and a subentry (create).

Procedure

Call up transaction STERM.

Enter the index entry you wish to promote and choose Maintain.

If this index entry already exists several times in SAPterm, the system displays a list of the existing terms.

If this index entry exists only once, the Maintain Index Entry screen appears.

Choose Edit ® Promote to terminology entry.

Result

The index entry is now a terminology entry in SAPterm, and from now on serves a dual purpose as term and index entry. The existing links from the index entry to Knowledge Warehouse information objects remain intact.
