Definition

If an employee leaves your company (see also Structure link Employee’s Leaving), you can record the data for the following leaving-related payments:

The system automatically uses the data saved in this infotype for the employee’s last payroll run.

NoteYou make the required Customizing settings for recording leaving-related payments in Customizing for Personnel Administration under Payroll Data in the section Leaving-Related Payments.

To record data in Payments upon Leaving A infotype (0527), perform the Leaving personnel action for the employee. When you perform this action, this infotype comes up automatically for processing. For instructions on performing the Leaving personnel action, see Structure link Performing Leaving Personnel Action Type for an Employee. After you have performed the action, the system stores the Left company status in the Employment field of Actions infotype (0000).

To record data in this infotype for an employee whose status has changed from an active to an Structure link inactive work relationship, the Inactive status must be stored in the Employment field of Actions infotype (0000). For pensioners, the Pensioner status must be stored in the Employment field. For pensioners, also ensure that during obligatory insurance coverage the employee’s former contribution group is retained and that the SI-exempt payments are made during this time period.

NoteIn Payments upon Leaving A infotype (0527) you can only record data for employees with the Left company , Inactive , or Pensioner status in the Employment field of Actions infotype (0000).

Start and end date of the infotype

The fields for the infotype’s start and end date are not ready for input. The system maintains the fields based on the employee’s leaving date and the entry contained in the Employment status field of Actions infotype (0000):

If the employee leaves the company during the month, the system reacts as follows:

If the employee leaves the company at the end of the month, the system sets the start date and end date of the infotype to the last day on which the employee had the Active status.

Create a record for the infotype

If you create a record for the infotype, the system gives you the default values that your system administration stored in Customizing for Personnel Administration under Payroll Data ® Leaving-Related Payments ® Determine Default Values for Infotype.

After when you have entered data for a leaving-related payment, this payment’s tab page then includes the This graphic is explained in the accompanying text icon. If you save the data and call up the record again later, the icon shows you the payments for which data is saved to the database (for example, This graphic is explained in the accompanying text severance pays).

If you have inadvertently overwritten the default values that were displayed when creating a record and would like to retrieve them, you must double click on one of the following fields:

Change a record for the infotype

When you change a record for the infotype, the icon This graphic is explained in the accompanying text shows you the individual tab cards of the payments for which data has been saved to the database: If this symbol appears, data for the payment has been written to the database.

If you have inadvertently overwritten the default values that were displayed when creating a record and would like to retrieve them from the database, you must double click on one of the following fields:

NoteIf you create a record for this infotype, the system gives you the default values that the system administration has saved in Customizing. If you change a record, you get the values that are saved in the database.

Copy a record for the infotype

If you want to copy a record for this infotype, the employee must have the Left company , Inactive , or Pensioner status in the Employment field of Actions infotype (0000).

The system determines the new start and end date of an infotype record while copying the record.

Example Example

In the Leaving personnel action, you have entered the wrong leaving date for an employee. To correct the date, copy the existing record for Payments upon Leaving A infotype (0527) and change the date in the personnel action.

After you have copied the record, you must delete the previous record manually. The system does not delete the previous record automatically.

Delete a record for the infotype

If you want to delete a record for the infotype and if the record contains specifications for leave compensation or factored leave compensation, you must check the Payroll to field in Payroll Status infotype (0003) after you have deleted the record:

If the system has set the a later date due to an extension of the obligatory insurance (on the basis of leave compensation or factored leave compensation) (see Structure link Dependence on Payroll Status Infotype (0003)), the system cannot automatically reset the original date. Therefore, you must check to ensure that the date is still correct and, if required, reset the date manually to the original date.
