Purpose

You want to process a work item with a SAPforms Form. This can be useful, for example, if an agent of a certain workflow wants to execute a workflow step offline using his or her mail client. The agent, therefore, only needs the form application on his or her local PC.

Process Flow

In the process described here and in the following procedure, it is assumed that you are using Microsoft Visual Basic. However, you can also design forms with Microsoft Outlook.

To execute a SAPforms form as a work item, you need to carry out the following steps:

In the SAP System:

For more information, see Adding Tasks to a Workflow Definition.

For more information, see Adding SAPforms Form Tasks to a Workflow Definition.

Note

To perform the process part necessary in the SAP System, you can also use the Include "Execute SAPforms form" wizard in the Workflow Builder.

Choose Wizards ® Include "Execute SAPforms form".

In Microsoft Visual Basic:

The SAPforms form must be saved in the directory ...\SAPforms\Forms or in the standard path, because the SAPforms Helper searches for this file there. If you want to save your form application in a different directory, you must change the settings in the system.

For more information, see Designing Forms with Microsoft Visual Basic.

In the SAPforms Designer:

For more information, see Maintaining Plug-Ins and Opening a Structure: Workflow.

For more information, see Defining and Generating a Binding: Workflow.

Result

Once you have designed the SAPforms form and processed it in the SAPforms Designer, you can make it accessible to the end users.
