Procedure documentation Configuring the Saprfc.ini File Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

If you did not specify the RFC parameters directly in the Exchange System Manager you must specify them in the Saprfc.inifile.

Prerequisites

You have carried out the setup procedure using the SAP Exchange Connector Administration Tools.msi file. During this procedure, a Readme.txt file was created in the installation directory. It contains notes and data on configuring the RFC connection between the SAP Exchange Connector and the SAP system.

In the Exchange System Manager, you have specified an RFC destination for both the RFC In component and the RFC Out component.

Procedure

Refer to the Readme.txt file and specify the RFC destination parameters in the Saprfc.ini file, both for the RFC In component and for the RFC Out component. The examples in the Readme.txt are called SXC_OUT and SXC_IN. You must adapt these entries to your infrastructure, bearing in mind case-sensitivity. If you do not know the gateway for the RFC Out component, you can create a list of the SAP Gateways connected by choosing Tools ® Administration ® Monitor ® System Monitoring ® Gateway Monitor in the SAP system.

Note

If possible, there should only be one SAPrfc.ini file, in which RFC destinations for all RFC-based programs can be stored.

Decide whether you want automatic load distribution, meaning that the RFC In processes are distributed by a message server between various application servers, or whether the data transfer of the RFC In component is always to run via a particular application server. Automatic load distribution is recommended.

Note

The host name of the application server ASHOST or of the message server MSHOST must be written either always in uppercase or always in lowercase in the Saprfc.ini file and wherever else it is used.

Result

You have specified the RFC parameters and must now create an RFC connection in the SAP system.

Examples

Saprfc.ini entry for the RFC connection from the SAP system to the SAP Exchange Connector

In this example, the SAP Gateway is installed on an application server R3APPLSERVER. LUNA.COM, which is addressed via the TCP/IP service Sapgw00.

Data transfer via a message server

In this example, the message server for SAP R/3 C11 runs on the computer R3MESSAGESERVER.LUNA.COM. The RFC user for the RFC In component logs on via the group RFCUSERS set up specifically for this purpose:

Data transfer via an application server

In this example, the RFC In service logs on to the application server R3APPLSERVER.LUNA.COM. The SAP R/3 number here is 00.
