Overview of Settings
Before you start the conversion, we advise you to check the settings.

Follow model marker |
If you set this indicator, the iPPE model is exploded right down to the lowest level. The explosion in a higher explosion level (such as alternative) is also continued, if there no access for the subordinate structure. If there is no access in the exploded iPPE model, the explosion may be followed in another iPPE model. |
|
Convert view structures |
If you set this indicator, the iPPE model is exploded including structures without components (view nodes, for example). This can be useful for exploding view structures, for example. Since view nodes have no component variants, there are no component assignments. In a multilevel view structure, however, the lowest level may have structure nodes with several component variants assigned.
You have modeled a multilevel view structure for a product structure. The view node at the lowest level has a structure node assigned to it, which has several component variants. |
|
Dialog setting |
This indicator controls how you can check and process the extracted data.
It gives you a lot of conversion information, on created and changed assemblies and material components, for example.

Create
Tab pageThe following overview lists the settings on the Create tab page.
|
Settings |
Use |
|
Create with usage |
You specify the BOM usage you want to use to create the material BOM. By selecting the usage (production, for example), you define, for example, the possible item statuses (for example, production-relevant item). The item status is required to create a material component of the material BOM from a component variant of the iPPE model. |
|
Create with valid-from date |
You define whether the creation data (administrative data) of an iPPE object from the iPPE model is copied as the valid-from date of the BOM object. Alternatively, you can enter any other date you like. |
Delete
Tab PageThe following overview lists the settings on the Delete tab page.

|
Do not delete items |
No items are deleted after conversion. |
|
Delete if transferred again |
On this tab page, you control whether items are deleted if transferred (converted) again.
In this case, you also enter the change number here. An item is only deleted if:

Variant
Tab PageThe following overview lists the settings on the Variant tab page.

|
Structure variant options |
You define the scope of variants included for conversion from the iPPE model.
In the standard system, only structure nodes with variants are extracted. A component variant usually has a material. In the conversion process, a material item is generated from this variant. |
|
Assignment of Variant |
You define the scope of data that is copied to the BOM item from the component variant in the iPPE model.
