Symbols for the report applications Material master are used in a report template. Once you have assigned the report template for the generation variant SBGV_01, the SAP System automatically assigns the report application Material master to the generation variant SBGV_01.

If you do not specify any more object keys, this generation variant applies for all materials in the material master. You can restrict the usage of the generation variant to specific materials, for example, to the material MAT_01.

In addition, you can enter the report application Work area with the object key PRESS, for example.

If you then specify the material MAT_01 and MAT_03 as the search criteria in the report information system, the generation variant SBGV_01 with the corresponding report is found for the material MAT_01. For MAT_01 and MAT_03, all other generation variants are also found that are assigned to the report application Material master but not to a special object key.

The SAP System selects the report for the generation variant SBGV_01 in the same way if you enter the work area PRESS as the search criterion.
