Switching Resources

Use

You can re-assign a task or group of tasks that are assigned to a deactivated resource by switching resources from the Alert Monitor.

Note

You can also switch resources from a presentation device. For more information, see Switching Resources in Using a Resource.

Prerequisites

The tasks for which you want to switch resources have been confirmed at source but not at destination.

In the case of a task bundle, at least one of the tasks has been confirmed at source but not at destination.

The resource to which you want to switch (the active resource) is qualified to perform the tasks.

Procedure

From the hierarchy tree, display the Deactivated Resources alerts located under Resource.

From the ALV, select the row corresponding to the deactivated resource from which you want to switch.

From the ALV tool bar, choose .

Choose Switch from the pop-up menu.

The Switch Resource dialog box appears, displaying the following:

In the top half, a list of the tasks assigned to the resource
In the bottom half, a list of suitably qualified resources to which you are able to switch

Select the row corresponding to the resource to which you want to switch.

If there are no suitably qualified resources to which you can switch, choose Force Confirm.

Note

The Force Confirm pushbutton is not displayed when there are suitably qualified resources.

Save.

The Switch Resource dialog box disappears.

Result

The tasks are now assigned to the active resource, which can access them by choosing Switch ® Get switched tasks from the main menu of its presentation device.
