Use

You can set Transport Recording options for each language in the screen SE63: Maintain Transport Recording Settings in transaction SE63. In transaction SE63, choose Goto ® Administration ® Transport recording from the menu, and press the icon Display/Change.

Prerequisites

All users can call up the Transport Recording function in display mode.

In order to change the settings in Transport Recording, the authorization S_TRANSLAT with value A8 must be assigned in the user master record.

Procedure

You set options for a language in the Recording section of the screen. Proceed as follows:

  1. Select your Target language. This is the language for which you want to set the Transport Recording options.
  2. Select the Recording method. There are three options:

If this option is set, translations are not recorded at all in a transport request.

This is the default setting. All translations are recorded in one composite transport request until this request is released for the target language in question.

All translations are recorded in one composite transport request for each user, until this request is released for the target language in question.

Once a transport request has been released or deleted, a new transport request will be created automatically in the background.

  1. Select the Type of transport request. There are two options:

This is the default setting. If copies are transported, this ensures that any transport requests that are released unintentionally are not automatically imported into other systems.

This setting defines that released transport requests are automatically imported into target systems on the same transport route.

  1. Select the Target system.

This setting is not an obligatory entry. You can enter any target system. However, when you release a transport request, you must enter the correct target system.

  1. Select the Owner.

The transport request is created by the translator who saves the first translation. Only the owner of a request can release the transport request, so the user who will ultimately release the request should be entered as the owner. This user must exist in the system.

  1. Display in SE63

If you check this box, the Transport Recording function is displayed in SE63 Translation, together with the recording method, which is shown as an icon:

Icon depicting one person: This refers to an individual transport request

Icon depicting two people: This refers to a composite transport request

Icon depicting a cog: This refers to recording under the Automatic Distribution function, which is dealt with separately.

However, changes to the function are not possible unless the box Request changeable has also been checked in SE63 Transport Recording.

If the box Display in SE63 is not checked, the Transport Recording function is not displayed in SE63 Translation at all, even the function is active for the target language.

  1. Request changeable

If you check this box, the Transport Recording function can be changed by the respective translator. Flagging this option, as well as the option Display in SE63, are only recommended if the translator has the authorization to create or change a transport request (exceptional case).

Result

Under Information, the system displays the last user who changed the settings, together with time and date.

Each time the settings are updated and saved, the current transport request is closed and a new transport request is created after an object has been saved in SE63.
