Use

If you want to perform individual configuration for a serial number, you must first choose one of the following procedures:

  1. You copy the configuration of a variant and then make any individual changes.

    2. If you choose this option, proceed as described below in Copying and Changing an Existing Configuration.

  2. You refer to a configurable material and create an individual configuration from its characteristics.

Prerequisites

The serial number is not yet configured.

Copying and Changing an Existing Configuration

  1. Call up the master record of the serial number in Change mode.
  2. Choose the tabstrip ConfigData.
  3. Enter the required configurable material.
  4. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Link Ref.

A dialog box is displayed.
  1. Enter the variant (configured material) and the plant and choose Continue.

    2. You return to the tabstrip of the configuration data.

  2. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Copy Ref.

    3. The system copies the configuration data of the variant. This means that the serial number master record no longer refers to the configuration of the variant. You are now able to maintain individually the configuration for the serial number.

  3. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Maintain.

    4. You return to the screen with the characteristic values for the variant.

  4. Change the data according to your requirements and return to the tabstrip of the configuration data.

    5. The configuration data is now indicated as being individually maintained.

  5. Save your data.

Creating an Individual Configuration

  1. Call up the master record of the serial number in Change mode.
  2. Choose the tabstrip ConfigData.
  3. Enter the required configurable material.
  4. Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Maintain.

    5. You go to the screen for maintaining characteristic values for the configurable material.

  5. Maintain the data according to your requirements and return to the tabstrip of the configuration data.

    6. The configuration data is now indicated as being individually maintained.

  6. Save your data.
