Entering content frameProcedure documentation Entering Serialization Data in the Piece of Equipment Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

  1. Choose Logistics ® Plant maintenance ® Technical objects ® Equipment ® Change or Service management ® Technical objects ® Equipment ® Change.
  1. Choose Ser.Data. If the tabstrip is not displayed, you can obtain this view by choosing Edit ® View selection and selecting the appropriate field.
  2. In the Detail screen for serialization data, enter the material to which you want to assign the piece of equipment as an individual item.

    3. Note

    When entering serialization details, you can only specify materials that have a serial number profile entered in their master record.

  3. Choose Enter.

    4. The system displays the last numeric serial number that has been assigned for this material.

    If you want to obtain an overview of the existing serial numbers for the material, choose Extras ® List of exist.SerNos.

  4. Assign a valid combination of material and serial number to the piece of equipment in the Detail screen for serialization data.
  5. Enter the necessary data and then save the equipment master record.
