The Database Manager CLI supports the use of the following external backup tools:

Using the Backup Tools

Start the operation for restoring the database instance from the Database manager CLI. The naming conventions for Structure linkexternal backup media enable the program to recognize the external backup tool and start it.

Procedure

First determine the Structure linkexternal backup ID for the required backup (Requesting External Backup IDs, Reading External Backup IDs). The Database Manager uses this ID to identify the backup that is to be restored.

Note

The number of media in a Structure linkgroup of parallel media must correspond to the number of media used to create the backup.

Proceed as described in Restoring the Database Instance

Restoring using NetWorker:

dbmcli –u dbm,dbm –uUTL –d mydb recover_start NSRPages pages ExternalBackupID 9025
