Posting Changes

Purpose

Posting changes in the warehouse can be executed as follows:

Select the handling unit by calling up the WM function Posting Change in WM and IM.

Using this function, you execute a posting change for the storage bin stock, the quantity change in the handling unit, and for the material stocks, all in one step.

The following options are available:

Quality inspection stock to unrestricted-use stock, and vice versa
Special stock to unrestricted-use stock, and vice versa
Consignment stock to the company’s own stock, and vice versa
Sales order stock to the company’s own stock, and vice versa

Creating posting change deliveries through posting changes that are initiated by Inventory Management or by a usage decision, and do not lead to a direct stock change.

A transfer order is created for the posting change delivery. This transfer order selects the respective handling units and confirms these to the delivery. The confirmation of the transfer order leads to the goods movement posting with reference to the posting change delivery, and also initiates the posting change for the stocks involved. You can have the creation and confirmation of the transfer order as well as the goods issue posting executed in the background.

The stock posting change in Warehouse Management always refers to a warehouse number.
