Assume, for example, that a delivery note item is to consist of 100 units of a material. You want to process these 100 units in three batches. Up to now, you have created and assigned the following partial items to the delivery item:

• 1st batch: 35 units
• 2nd batch: 40 units

The third batch, consisting of the remaining 25 units, has not been assigned to the delivery item yet because the material is still in production. In this case, you cannot make a usage decision for the inspection lot because the batch split is incomplete.
