Prerequisites

If you want to record defects with reference to the serial numbers of the inspected units, you must first activate the function for recording serial numbers.

Procedure

To do this, follow this procedure:

  1. Choose a serial number profile for the material in the material master (general plant data view).
  2. In the material master, specify the recording of single units for the desired inspection types (Quality Management view, Inspection setup pushbutton).
  3. Make sure the control indicator No serial numbers is not set in the confirmation profile.

Result

When you have carried out these steps, the defects recording screen will contain a field in which you can enter the serial number for each defect item.
