Use

The main purpose of this record is to provide the payroll and the P11D report Summary of Taxable Benefits for End-of-Year Reporting Great Britain (RPCP11G0) with information for Class 1A National Insurance contribution (NICs) calculation.

One record needs to be created for each car an employee is entitled to use per tax year.

Structure

Car information

On Car information tab strip, enter the relevant information, including:

·         car manufacturer

·         car model

·         registration date

If the car becomes unavailable, you must delimit the infotype record with the correct date range and set the indicator in the unavailability field. Furthermore, you must select the corresponding reason in the field unavailability reason.

In the case that you use the mySAP Asset Management solution, enter the asset number in the field Asset number.

In the Car specifics section:

·         The fields Fuel and CC’s are automatically updated.

·         The field CO2 is maintained through either one of the following scenarios:

·         If you select a transmission type and door plan for the car (in the field TT & Door Plan), the CO2 value is automatically defaulted into this field.

·         If you do not select a transmission type and door plan for the car (in the field TT & Door Plan), you must manually enter the CO2 emissions value in this field.

Price_Benefit

On the Price_Benefit tab strip, enter the car’s list price and the new cost of any accessories. If the employee makes a capital contribution to the cost of the car, you should enter it here. Any capital contribution of up to £5000 made by the employee towards the purchase of the car or accessories can be deducted from the price.

The car price to your company is calculated from this information.

Additional Information

On the Additional info tab strip, you determine whether or not the fuel scale charge will be paid in full by the employer

The car price to your company is calculated from this information.

Benefit Calculation

To calculate the car benefit, the system requires the following information:

1.       A valid make and model of the car.

2.       The CO2 emissions have been maintained for each make and model.

3.       Periods for which the car is unavailable for use.

4.       Payments made for private use.

The system calculates the car benefit as a percentage of the car price. This percentage is set according to the level CO2 emissions for the car. The system then makes the appropriate unavailability and calculates employee contributions. For more information, see Creating a Company Car (Infotype 0442) Record with Reduced Car Benefit.
