Characteristics and Key Figures
Use
Below is a list of the characteristics that can be used in drilldown reports for investment programs. The characteristics are grouped according to type.
Features
Characteristics generally usable in a drilldown report:
Object selection
Object (complete investment program hierarchy with measures and appropriation requests)
Investment program position
End node of investment program (lowest level program position)
Measure (order or top WBS element)
Order (hierarchy possible)
WBS element (top WBS element only)
- Company
- Company code
- Business area
- Controlling area
- Profit center (hierarchy possible, but only with controlling area)
- Cost center (hierarchy possible, but only with controlling area)
- Plant
- Company area
- Functional location
- Old or new measure assignment (indicator: measure new in approval year / measure carried forward from prior years)
- Person responsible
- Balance sheet item
- Reason for investment
- Priority
- Main status (for measure: created/partly released/released/technically completed/closed)
- Object type (order, WBS element – usually only for scale)
- Scale (for order, WBS element)
Characteristics for more precise specification of key figures in a form (see below)
- Fiscal year
- Value type (plan, budget, and so on)
- Plan version
- Budget category (standard use: capital vs. expense)
- New/old indicator (current values, balance forward, forecast)
- Type of business transaction (as explanation of the budget)
- KBUD budgeting (original budget)
- KBN0 budget supplement
- KBR0 budget return
- KBUE budget transfer (receiver)
- KBUS budget transfer (sender)
Key Figures in a Form
The following key figures are defined for investment programs:
- Overall value in investment program currency
- Distributable overall value in investment program currency
- Assigned overall value in investment program currency
- Annual value in investment program currency
- Distributable annual value in investment program currency
- Assigned annual value in investment program currency
- Overall expected value in investment program currency
- Annual expected value in investment program currency
You can only use these key figures in conjunction with the Value type characteristic (see below). You can define additional key figures using customer enhancements (SAP enhancement AAIP0002 for investment programs and SAP enhancement AAIR0001 for appropriation requests).
Characteristics/Key Figures for Appropriation Requests
A similar list of characteristics and key figures exists for drilldowns on appropriation requests. To see these characteristics and key figures, analyze the definition of a standard drilldown report (such as 112PLANMR).
Unique Properties of IM Drilldowns
All standard drilldown functions are available for drilldown reports on investment programs or appropriation requests. The following special features are, however, specific to IM:
- Some key figures are year-dependent (annual values). These key figures therefore are only valid in conjunction with the Fiscal year characteristic.
- In drilldowns that report on plan values, you always have to specify the Plan version characteristic. Otherwise, the system totals the plan values of all plan versions.
- All other key figures, except those for the expected value, can only be defined logically in conjunction with the Value type characteristic. The value type specifies the type of value concerned. The following value types are of significance here:
- 1 planned costs (investment measures)
- 4 actual values
- 10 statistical plan values
- 11 statistical actual values
- 12 down payments as expense
- 21/22/23 commitments from purchase requisitions/purchase orders/reservations
- 24 commitments posted manually
- 25 remaining plan values from apportioned orders/networks
- 26 commitments from fixed price agreement
- 39 planned costs (appropriation request)
- 40 planned costs that can be capitalized (appropriation request)
- 41 budget (investment measures)
- 47 budget (program positions)
- 48 plan values (program positions)
- 52 planned cash flow (appropriation requests)
In this context, "statistical" means that the values originated during automatic, statistical posting from an asset to a project or order.

Normally the options for reporting offered by standard drilldowns using a large number of pre-defined characteristic values are sufficient. However, if you want to create drilldown reports using characteristic values that are not provided here, you can define your own characteristics using customer enhancement AAIP0003 (for investment programs) or AAIR0004 (for appropriation requests.
For more information on specific customer enhancements, refer to their online documentation (transaction SMOD). For general information on customer enhancements, see transaction CMOD (Information pushbutton).
